CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM
There are many things we could and should be doing better in the area of criminal justice, including shoring up mental health resources so that mental health emergencies aren’t solely left to law enforcement to handle.
Incarceration is not a “catch-all drawer” for individuals struggling to live in our communities. We must also provide help for returning citizens. Once someone has served their sentence, we cannot simply return them to their communities with no resources and support. It benefits all of us to make their transition back into their communities as smooth as possible.
